REPEAT PRESCRIPTONS

greepillsPatients on regular medication do not always need to see a doctor for a repeat prescription of their medicines. You will be issued with a computer request slip which will be attached to the right hand side of your prescription. This should be kept in a safe place and returned to the surgery when you need further medication.

Please make remember the following important points:

  • Tick clearly the items required.
  • Cross out any medication no longer taken so that it can be deleted.
  • If your medication is changed at a hospital check up, please write this on your request slip.

Request slips should be either:

  • Mailed to Walford Mill Medical Centre, Knobcrook Road, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 1NL
  • Faxed to (01202 840049)
  • Brought to the surgery and handed in at reception or placed in the special 24 hour posting box at the surgery entrance.
  • Online via the form on this page

Please allow two working days for your prescription to be processed.

We regret we are unable to accept requests over the telephone except by prior arrangement for patients who are housebound for whom we have a dedicated telephone line available from 10.30am to 11am Monday to Friday. The number is (01202) 840047.

Prescriptions can be sent to you by post if an S.A.E is provided.

At some time in the future, the NHS plans that in most cases paper prescriptions will be replaced by an electronic prescribing system which will enable electronic prescriptions to be generated and transmitted to pharmacies and other dispensers.

Patients will be able to nominate a pharmacy and/or other dispenser if there is one they wish to use on a regular basis. We will keep patients informed of developments and changes to the repeat prescribing service as and when they occur.
